The Honest Problem With AI Advice Right Now
Search “AI for small business” and you get two kinds of articles. Breathlessly optimistic (“AI will 10x your productivity overnight!”) or vague to the point of useless (“use AI across your workflows for competitive advantage”). Neither one helps you decide what to do on Monday morning.
The small businesses I work with ask better questions. Is there something specific AI could do for my business right now? How much would it cost? Is it worth the time to set up? And who do I call when it breaks?
Good questions. They deserve straight answers.
What AI Is Actually Doing for Small Businesses
The highest-value AI I’m seeing for small businesses right now is mostly about automating repetitive, time-consuming knowledge work.
Customer communication drafts. Emails, follow-ups, proposals. AI writes a first draft, you edit and send. The time savings are real.
Content creation. Blog posts, social captions, marketing copy. Again, first-draft territory. A human still does the last edit.
Report generation. Pulling data from a few sources and summarizing it in plain language. This is what our monthly client reports are built on.
Internal documentation. Process guides, training materials, SOPs. AI drafts them from your notes and descriptions.
What “AI Consulting” Means in Practice
For small businesses, AI consulting isn’t about installing enterprise software. It’s sitting down, understanding how you actually work, and finding the two or three spots where AI could save real time or produce a better result. Then setting those up and making sure they actually work.
This Is a Service We Offer Now
AI consulting is a live part of what Live Web Studios does. If you’ve looked at AI and thought I should be doing something with this and I have no idea where to start, that’s exactly the conversation we have. No waitlist. Just a call, a look at how you actually work, and a plan for the two or three spots where AI earns its keep.
